Dear 7th and 8th Grade Students and Families,

Welcome to PVPA!  Whether you’re coming back or stepping in for the first time, I’m glad you’re here and look forward to working with you.

My name is Kyle Taylor, and I’m incredibly excited to continue my role of middle school counselor this year.

Throughout the year, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or needs you might have.  Whether it’s about academics, social and emotional well-being, plans for the future, or just to say hi, I welcome you.  I can be reached at ktaylor@pvpa.org or by phone at 413 552 1580 x423.  Students can also email or stop by my office (room 423) during non-class times to leave me a note or make an appointment.

There are some great things happening this year that I’m very excited about, most notably the addition of a ‘Wellness” block on Friday mornings, where students will continue to receive the LifeSkills curriculum, as well as a tailored school counseling curriculum based on needs assessment and lessons focused on Restorative Practice.

Some other things you can look forward to this year are:

  • Small group student meetings so that I can get to know each of you personally.  Throughout the month of September, I’ll be setting up small group meetings in order to meet all students.
  • A comprehensive school counseling program that offers education on a variety of topics from substance abuse prevention to planning for the future.
  • Popping into advisory to connect with students and staff, help build community, and enjoy the morning’s activities.

I’m looking forward to the school year, and am excited to see you again or meet you.  Please know that I’m available and willing to help in any way that I can to help support the needs and concerns of students and families, so don’t hesitate to reach out!

All the best,
Kyle Taylor
