Friday Notes - May 29, 2015

Dear Class of 2015,

It's your last "official" day at PVPA and I am going to miss you! Of course, we know that you will be back to visit next year. But today I'm just thinking about when we first met four years ago, and now you are ready to move on to the next phase of your lives. Below is a little gift from me to the class -- one of my favorite songs that captures how I feel today.

At this time of year, it is easy to focus only on the wonderful experiences we have had with members of the soon-to-be-graduated Class of 2015. Many of these amazingly talented young artists and scholars began PVPA as middle schoolers, and at the senior class meeting today, Freja Joslin handed out letters that our seniors wrote to themselves when they had Freja in 8th grade! Who knew that they would grow up so quickly.

May 22nd is Unity Day! That morning, PVPA students and staff will lead workshops they designed to bring our student body together around compelling issues of common concern. At the conclusion of the morning workshops, students and staff will gather outside for a community lunch and open microphone. With the date fast approaching, we really need your help.
